1. Step: Defining a methodological approach including quality criteria for the framework.
2. Step: Creating a draft version of the academic competence framework according to the methodological approach. This includes research on curricula of technical communication studies throughout the world.
3. Step: Collecting and integrating feedback on the draft version of the framework by experts from academia and industry. Complete and publish a final version of the comprehensive framework.
4. Step: Setting up a competence and qualification profiling tool that can be used interactively by individuals to assess their (academic) qualification in technical communication.
